絹からみ織りTextile《霞影（かえい）》

黒とグレーの構造の中に、白が静かに光をひらく。
《霞影》は、影そのものではなく、遠くの景色が白灰色にかすんで見える、幻想的な雰囲気をテーマにした一枚です。

からみ織りの空気を含む組織に、黒・グレー・白の緯糸が重なり、線の層がゆっくりと浮かび上がります。
近づくと糸の響き合いが見え、離れると光がすっと透ける——その距離感ごと、表情が変わります。

経糸は黒とグレー。緯糸には、正絹糸、絹強撚糸、太さの異なる手紡ぎ真綿糸（工房で育てた小石丸の繭）を重ねました。
さらに本作では、黒と白に1000個の繭から引いた糸を織り込み、密度の奥に“芯の強さ”を加えています。

白には、繭の外側から生まれるきびそ糸も使用しました。
やわらかな光沢とは別の、少しだけ荒さを含んだ白。そこに黒の線が走ることで、布の中に静かな輪郭が立ち上がります。

《霞影》は、黒の深さで終わらず、明るさへひらいていく布。
光を抱き、風を通し、装いにも暮らしにもそっと寄り添う、Collector’s Series の一点物です。

English Version

Silk Leno Weave Textile “Ka-Ei — Mist Shadow”

White quietly opens into light within a structure of black and gray.
“Mist Shadow” is a piece that is not based on shadows themselves, but on the fantastical atmosphere of the distant scenery, which appears hazy in a white-gray hue.

In an airy leno weave, layers of black, gray, and white weft threads overlap, and drawn lines rise softly to the surface.
Up close, you can sense the dialogue of yarns; from a distance, light slips through—its expression changes with your gaze.

The warp is black and gray. For the weft, we combined silk yarn, high-twist silk, and hand-spun silk floss in several thicknesses (Koishimaru).
We also wove in an exceptional element: threads drawn from 1,000 cocoons in both black and white, giving the textile a quiet strength beneath its translucence.

For the white, we also used kibiso, a special silk taken from the outermost layer of the cocoon.
Its white holds a faint rawness—different from a smooth sheen—and the black lines moving across it create a calm, precise contour.

“Ka-Ei” does not end in black depth—it opens toward light.
A one-of-a-kind work from our Collector’s Series, made to hold light, let wind pass through, and live quietly in both dress and daily life.
