絹からみ織りストール《茜影（あかねかげ）》

赤と黒が重なり、静かに息づくように揺らぐ絹からみ織りのストール。
鮮烈ではなく、深く穏やかに漂う赤。その陰影の奥に、やわらかな光が宿ります。

黒は闇。色の不在でありながら、光を吸い込み、静けさの中に力強さを秘めた色。
赤は生命の色であり、熱や脈動を内側に静かに抱き留める色。
《茜影》は、この二つの気配が交わるところに生まれる「動と静のある赤と黒」をテーマにした作品です。

2025年、私たちは“赤と黒”という対極の色を一年かけて深く追求してきました。
そして今回、名古屋ファインアートコレクションに特別に参加させていただくことになり、
この作品を 2025年の赤黒シリーズの集大成 として完成させました。

これまでの作品では、緯糸に正絹糸・絹強撚糸・手紡ぎ真綿糸を用いてきましたが、
本作には、新たな試みとして 1000個の繭から引いた糸 も織り込みました。

さらに使用した繭は、今年工房で大切に育てた「小石丸」。
小石丸の繭は細く、静かな光を放つ特別な糸です。
その優しい糸と、1000個の繭から生まれた強靭な糸とが交わることで、
“やさしさ” と “強さ” の両方を宿す布となりました。

一本でも輝く絹の糸が、千本重なることで生まれる深い光沢。
その光を抑えすぎず、主張させすぎず、糸の張力と密度のバランスを慎重に調えながら織り上げました。

《茜影》は、情熱ではなく、静かに息づく赤と黒の余韻を表現した一枚。
素材から追求し、染め、紡ぎ、そして織りまでを山梨の山間で創作した、
この世にただ一つしか存在しない、Collector’s Series の特別作です。

素材の出自

経糸は黒・グレーの絹糸。緯糸には、正絹糸・絹強撚糸・手紡ぎ真綿糸に加え、1000個の繭から引いた糸を織り込みました。
今年工房で育てた小石丸の繭から生まれた、細く静かな光を放つ糸も含まれます。素材の出自の違いが、そのまま布の陰影と奥行きになります。

技法の核

からみ織りは、糸の間に空気が通う織り。目が開くことで光を含み、巻いたときに透けや奥行きが生まれます。
《茜影》では、赤と黒の「動と静」が、光の角度によって静かに入れ替わります。

工程の証拠

繭から引いた糸、真綿を紡いだ糸、張りのある正絹糸——異なる個性をもつ糸たちを、張力と密度のバランスを調えながら一枚にまとめました。
糸の光沢を抑えすぎず、主張させすぎない。織りの手元の判断が、そのまま布の静けさになります。

機能

空気を含む軽さがありながら、からみ構造のためすべりにくく、首元にやさしく沿います。
透けと密度が共存するため、季節の変わり目や、室内外を行き来する日にも使いやすいストールです。

一点物の理由

その年に育てた蚕の個性、繭から引いた糸の状態、真綿の紡ぎ、そして織りのリズム。
さらに《茜影》は、2025年の赤黒シリーズの集大成として、素材と構造のバランスを一点ごとに探りながら完成させました。
同じ構想でも、同じ表情は二度と現れません。

手入れと時間

草木染めは光や摩擦で少しずつ変化します。その変化も含めて、布は育っていきます。
中性洗剤での単独手洗い、陰干しをおすすめします。気になることがあればご相談ください。

English Version

Silk Leno Weave Textile (Stole) “Akane-kage — Quiet Madder Shadow

A silk leno-weave textile where red and black drift quietly together, creating a soft interplay of shadow and light.
The red in this piece is not fiery, but calm — a madder hue that breathes slowly, revealing depth rather than intensity.

Black is deep dark, the absence of color, absorbs light and turns it into quiet strength.
Red carries the memory of life — a pulse, a gentle warmth held within.
“Akane-kage” expresses the meeting point of these two elements:a movement and stillness in meditative red and black.

Throughout 2025, we have explored the dialogue between red and black.
With our special invitation to the Nagoya Fine Art Collection,
this work was created as the culmination of the year’s red-and-black series.

Traditionally, our weft yarns consisted of silk, high-twist silk, and hand-spun floss silk.
For this special edition, we added a remarkable new element:
threads drawn from 1,000 cocoons.

These cocoons came from Koishimaru, a rare and delicate silkworm variety we raised in our studio this year.
Koishimaru silk is fine, tender, and subtly luminous.
By combining its gentle character with the extraordinary strength of the 1,000-cocoon silk,
this textile embodies both softness and resilience.

A single filament shines on its own — a thousand together create a profound radiance.
Balancing this brilliance with the quietness of the design required careful adjustments of tension and density throughout the weaving process.

“Akane-kage” is a meditation on red and black: not passionate, but quietly alive.
A one-of-a-kind piece in the Collector’s Series.

Origin

The warp is silk in black and gray. The weft brings together silk yarn, high-twist silk, hand-spun floss silk, and a remarkable new element—threads drawn from 1,000 cocoons.
These cocoons include Koishimaru, a rare silkworm variety we raised in our studio in 2025. The contrast between gentleness and strength becomes the textile’s depth.

Technique

Leno weaving creates an open structure where air and light pass between threads, revealing transparency and dimensionality when worn.
In “Akane-kage,” red and black subtly exchange presence depending on the angle of light—movement and stillness in one textile.

Process Proof

Cocoon-drawn silk, hand-spun floss silk, and filament yarn each carry different tension and character. We balanced density and tension throughout weaving—never suppressing the silk’s radiance, never letting it dominate.
The decisions made at the loom become the quietness you feel in the finished piece.

Function

Airy and lightweight, yet with a comfortable grip—leno structure helps it sit gently without slipping.
The balance of openness and density makes it wearable across seasons, especially in transitional weather and for moving between indoors and outdoors.

One-of-a-kind

Year-specific silk, the condition of cocoon-drawn threads, the character of hand-spun floss silk, and the rhythm of weaving—each element makes this piece unrepeatable.
Created as the culmination of our 2025 red-and-black exploration, “Akane-kage” will not return in the same expression.

Care & Time

Natural dyes may gently change with light and friction—this is part of the textile’s life.
