染織教室
植物染め plant dyeing
6月下旬に、染織教室の2回目を開催しました。前回作った真綿を植物で染めます。
先ずは、工房付近を散策して染料となる植物を見つけます。今回は、『枇杷の葉』と『胡桃の青い果実』『ローズマリー』『ヨモギの乾燥葉』で染めました。
3種類の媒染剤を使って色を変えたので、全部で12色に真綿が染まりました。おまけに、草むしりででたミントと椿の花びらでも染めてみました。
The second dyeing and weaving workshop was held in late June.
We dyed the flossy silks with plants collected near our workshop.
This time we dyed the flossy silks with loquat leaves, rosemary, walnuts and dried mugwort leaves.
We used three types of mordant, so the flossy silks were dyed in 12 different colors.
