染織教室
真綿づくり making flossy silk
7月下旬に、染織教室の3回目を開催しました。前回染めた真綿をフワフワにする作業をしました。今回、初参加の方もいらしたので、蚕の蛹出し、草木染めもやりました。
草木染めは、ヒノキと玉ねぎの皮で染めました。前回の15色に加え、6色の真綿ができました。織るのがワクワクする色数になりました。
そして、糸を紡ぐ前に真綿をフワフワにしていきます。
指の腹を使ってフワフワにしていく作業は、なんとも言えない肌触りで心穏やかな時間になります。
The third dyeing and weaving workshop was held in late July.
We worked on making flossy silk fluffy.
This time, we had a new guest for the first time, so we also did removing the pupa from the cocoon and dyeing the flossy silks with onion skins, and the leaves of Japanese cypress.
Now that we have flossy silks in many colors, we are excited to weave them.
Then, we made the flossy silks fluffy before spinning the yarn.
Fluffing it with our fingertips gives it at indescribable texture and makes for a relaxing time.
