天蚕や家蚕に出会う。yamamayuの“野あそび”体験

noasobi｜天蚕（やままゆ）を育てる3回シリーズ（2026春）
山まゆの里染織工房（yamamayu）の「noasobi（野あそび）」は、染めたり織ったりする前に、素材のはじまりを五感で味わうための時間です。
この春は、天蚕（ヤママユ）の一生を、里山で“見守る手”として体験する全3回の小さな連続ワークショップを開催します。
クヌギ畑に卵をつける日。育ちを観察し、里山の手入れする日。繭に出会い、収穫する日。
その都度、短いモジュール（家蚕・真綿・小さなクラフト）を添えて、親子でも大人でも、安心してのんびり参加できるワークショップにしました。
■ 開催日（予定）
- 第1回：2026年4月29日（水・祝）｜天蚕の種（卵）つけワークショップ
- 第2回：2026年5月30日（土）｜幼虫の観察 くぬぎ畑の整備など
- 第3回：繭になった頃（6月〜7月頃を予定）｜繭になったものを見る会
※天候や成長スピードにより前後します。日程確定は第2回の頃にご案内します。
① 4/29（水・祝）｜種（卵）つけワークショップ
- クヌギ畑の案内：天蚕が“なぜクヌギなのか”
- 卵つけ体験：枝の選び方／つけ方／見守り方
- 軽食の時間
- 家蚕にもふれてみよう：桑・一齢・脱皮の話（天蚕との“文化の対比”として）
② 5/30（土）｜観察
- 成長観察：卵→幼虫の変化
- くぬぎ畑の整備
- 生態の話：葉の状態・糞・食痕・天敵（「痕跡を読む」体験）
- 軽食の時間
- 家蚕の観察
③ 6月 | 繭になったものを見る会
- 繭の観察：色・硬さ・重さ（比較）
- 軽食の時間
- 天蚕の繭→真綿にふれる
- 小さな持ち帰り：天蚕繭の標本
■ 昼食について
昼食付です（軽食）。
基本：おにぎり／汁物／お茶
※サンドイッチ等のパンになる場合があります。

- 虫が少し苦手でも、無理のない範囲で“素材のはじまり”に触れてみたい

noasobi | Watching Tensan (Wild Silk) Through the Season
noasobi is Yamamayu’s outdoor, slow-paced experience—before dyeing or weaving—where you meet the origin of textiles with all five senses.
This spring, we will hold a small-group, three-session series to follow the life of Tensan (wild silk moth) in our satoyama landscape—becoming the “hands that watch and care.”
Session 1: placing eggs in the Quercus (kunugi) field. Session 2: observing growth and caring for the field. Session 3: meeting cocoons—the day we “pass it on to cloth.”
Each session includes optional short modules (domestic silkworm, silk floss, simple craft) so both families and adults can join comfortably.

- Session 1: Wed, Apr 29, 2026 (Holiday) | Egg placement workshop
- Session 2: Sat, May 30, 2026 | Observation + field care
- Session 3: When cocoons form (around Jun–Jul) | Cocoon gathering & viewing
*The timing may shift depending on weather and growth. The final date will be announced around Session 2.
1) Apr 29 | Egg Placement
- Kunugi field walk: why Tensan relies on kunugi oak
- Egg placement: choosing branches / how to place / how to watch
- Mini talk: predators, temperature, rain and wind
- Light meal time
- Observation of domestic silkworm: mulberry, first instar, molting—contrasting cultures
2) May 30 | Observation + Field Care
- Growth observation: egg to larva changes
- Field care: safe, gentle grass cutting as satoyama stewardship
- Reading traces: leaf condition, frass, feeding marks, predators
- Light meal time
- Domestic silkworm care
3) When Cocoons Form
- Cocoon observation: color, firmness, weight, scent
- Light meal time
- A small “wild silk cocoon to silk floss” touch
- A small take-home: a wild silk cocoon
■ Lunch
Lunch is included (light meal).
Standard: rice balls (onigiri), soup, and tea.
*Depending on the season and supplies, it may be replaced with sandwiches or other bread-based meals.
■ Workshop Details
- Location: Around Ichikawamisato, Yamanashi (Yamamayu’s fields and the area around our studio)
*The exact meeting place/details will be shared after booking. - Time: 10:00–around 14:00
- Capacity: Small group (participant numbers are limited for safety)
- What to bring: Rain Boots / long sleeves & long pants / hat / drink / insect repellent (if needed)
