贈られたバラが、新しい形に ― 想いをのせた染めの時間
昨日、都内からお越しくださったお二人との染め体験がありました。
特別な日に贈られた100本のバラ。その大切な花束を、どうにか形に残しておきたい･･･そんな願いを抱えて、工房を探し、いくつかの候補の中から山まゆの里染織工房を選んでくださったそうです。
Gifted Roses, Reborn in Color — A Time of Meaningful Dyeing
A couple from Tokyo visited our workshop with a very special gift:
a bouquet of one hundred roses, given on a memorable day.
初めてメールをいただいたのは、ちょうど私が画面を開いていたタイミング。お話を伺い、すぐに「せっかくだから花びらだけでなく、がくや茎、葉まですべてを染めに使ってみては」とご提案。お花をすべて丁寧に仕分け、冷凍して持ってきてくださいました。
Wishing to preserve this bouquet in a lasting form, they chose yamamayu among several studios they found. Together, we decided to use not only the petals, but also the sepals, stems, and leaves—each carefully separated and brought frozen to the workshop.
丁寧な手と心が映し出す色
当日は5枚の絹ストールと10色の絹真綿を染めました。
媒染には鉄とミョウバンを使い分け、それぞれの花の部分がもつ色を最大限に引き出します。花びらのやわらかなピンク、萼の意外な色合い、葉や茎の落ち着いたトーン。葉のローズティーの香りに包まれながらの染色。ひとつひとつの作業をお二人が本当に丁寧に向き合ってくださったからこそ、その姿勢がそのまま色に現れて、どの色もとても美しく仕上がったのだと思います。
Colors of Care
Yesterday, we dyed five silk stoles and ten shades of silk wadding.
Using alum and iron mordants, they explored the colors hidden in each part of the rose. The soft pinks of petals, the deep tones of stems and sepals—each hue reflected the care and thought they put into the process.
繭から蛹を出した真綿はこれから糸に紡ぎ、布へと織りあげていく予定です。
花束から布へ。時間をかけて、少しずつかたちを変えながら、思い出が手の中に残っていく･･･とても贅沢で、かけがえのない体験になるはずです。
The silk floss will be spun into yarn and eventually woven into fabric.
From bouquet to cloth, the transformation will continue, carrying memories into a new form.
オンリーワンの想いを布にのせて
染めも織りも、そのときの気持ちや向き合い方が自然と表れるもの。
大切な花束を二人で作業をしながら残したいという願いから始まった今回の体験は、私自身にとってもとても心に響くものでした。お二人で染めにゆったりと向き合う時間。時短や効率が求められる？求める？時代ですが、また違う価値観も動き出していることを感じました。
One-of-a-Kind Stories
Dyeing and weaving always reflect our feelings and the way we approach the materials.
This experience, born from the wish to keep a beloved bouquet alive in color, touched me deeply as well.
