From cocoon to cloth
in the mountains of Yamanashi
Expressions of Cloth
Colors that change in the light, layers of thread, and the quiet movement of the weave.

Cloth in the Making
From Cocoon to Cloth
Raising silkworms, making thread from cocoons, dyeing, preparing, and weaving.
As much as possible, the path toward cloth remains in our own hands.

Studio
A spinning, dyeing, and weaving studio in the mountains of Yamanashi.
We carry on the textile work that began in Hachioji in 1894, and continue making cloth as a family-run studio.

Journal
Notes from the mountains, work in progress, and the time passing through the studio.
Now
Current exhibitions and workshops now open for registration.
