A day for touching the very time in which cloth comes into being
Rather than asking whether something can be made well,
this is a time to sense how materials move toward becoming cloth.
At our studio in the mountains of Yamanashi,
we quietly follow the path from cocoon to mawata, thread, dyeing, and weaving
in a small group.
About This Gathering
By touching cocoons, mawata, drawing thread, and following the path toward weaving,
this small gathering offers time to encounter the flow through which cloth comes into being.
Because the group is small, each material and each step can be felt quietly,
rather than moving through everything in haste.
