2026年6月23日（火）から28日（日）まで、青森県・さくら野百貨店青森本店にて作品展を開催いたしました。
昨年に続き、二回目の開催となりました。今回は画廊を離れ、より多くの方に布をご覧いただけるよう、3階の特設会場に作品を展示しました。

染め 織り 紡ぎの布展
～風を纏い光をたたえる、繭からの布～
樹々の葉に育まれた繭から、真綿、糸、そして布へ。
八王子の地で1894年の創業以来受け継いできた染織の技を礎に、山梨の工房で育てた家蚕や天蚕の繭から糸をつくり、染め、織り上げた作品をご紹介しました。
風が通い、光をたたえる布。会場では、それぞれに異なる糸の表情や、光によって移ろう絹の色と質感を、実際にお手に取ってご覧いただきました。
会期中には、「繭から糸へ、布をまとう時間」と題し、真綿の糸紡ぎ体験も開催しました。
普段なかなか触れる機会のない真綿に触れながら、繭から糸が生まれる工程を体験していただく小さな会です。
作品を見ることと、素材から布へとつながる時間に触れること。その両方を通して、yamamayuの布が生まれる背景をご紹介する機会となりました。
会場へ足をお運びくださった皆さま、布をお手に取り、制作の背景に耳を傾けてくださった皆さまに、心より御礼申し上げます。
また青森の地で、私たちの布をご覧いただける日を楽しみにしております。

Textile Exhibition in Aomori
Our textile exhibition was held at Sakurano Department Store in Aomori from June 23 to 28, 2026.
This was our second exhibition in Aomori, following our first visit the previous year. This time, the works were presented in a special exhibition space on the third floor, where they could be encountered by a wider range of visitors.

Textiles of Dyeing, Weaving and Spinning
Cloth from the Cocoon, Holding Light and Moving with the Wind
From cocoons to mawata silk, from thread to cloth.
Founded in Hachioji in 1894, our family studio continues its inherited textile practice in Yamanashi. The exhibition presented works made with silk from both domesticated silkworms and Tensan wild silkworms, shaped through the processes of thread-making, dyeing and weaving.
Visitors were able to see and touch the distinct qualities of the threads, as well as the changing colours and textures of silk in the light.
During the exhibition, we also held a small mawata silk-spinning experience entitled From Cocoon to Thread: A Time to Wear the Cloth.
Participants touched mawata silk and experienced the delicate process through which silk fibres are drawn from the cocoon and gradually become thread.
By bringing the finished textiles together with this hands-on encounter, the exhibition offered an opportunity to share more of the materials, time and processes from which yamamayu’s cloth emerges.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited the exhibition, experienced the textiles and took the time to learn about the work behind them.
We look forward to sharing our textiles in Aomori again.
