Indigo Afterglow

Collector’s Gallery

A silk leno-weave coat in which deep indigo settles quietly into shadow. Hints of violet and charcoal appear softly within the blue, leaving a calm afterimage that changes with the light.

Its airy transparency is balanced by the sheen and fluidity of silk. Rather than creating a bright dramatic impression, the cloth holds a quieter depth, one that unfolds slowly as it is worn.

About the Work

Compared with the previous coat, the depth of indigo stands more clearly at the front, while the overlapping lines seem to sink more quietly into the cloth. Up close, fine stripes and slight tonal shifts echo through the weave; from a distance, they rise as one settled blue field.

Within the transparent structure of leno weave, the sheen and gentle firmness of silk appear quietly simply by being worn. Rather than bright ornament, this coat creates its impression through the layering of deep color.

Background

Like the previous coat, this work was shaped through weaving and post-dyeing so that each piece would carry its own expression. Here, however, the indigo remains deeper and more inward, with a quieter mood that feels closer to evening.

Leno weave holds air between the threads, passes light through, and creates depth in movement. In this coat, nearly black lines overlap softly within the transparent structure, and the indigo layers seem to sink like time itself. Its blue changes little by little with distance and light.

Depending on light and photography conditions, the color may appear different from the actual work. Small variations in size or tone may occur through the dyeing and weaving process; please receive these as part of the expression of a one-of-a-kind piece.

Gentle hand washing is recommended. Friction and direct sunlight may slowly change the color and texture over time, and these changes may also be enjoyed as part of the life of silk.
