From spring into summer, we will open a series of small workshops in Yamanashi and Hachioji.
While touching materials, looking closely at color, and moving your hands slowly,
these gatherings are meant to offer unhurried time through dyeing and weaving.
Rather than focusing on making something perfectly,
we hope they become quiet hours spent gently with cloth and thread.
Upcoming Gatherings
Apr 24 / 25 | Hachioji
Composing Silk Colors | A Small Wall Hanging in Hachioji
A quiet day of choosing naturally dyed silk colors and weaving a small textile piece.
It is a time to look closely at layers of color and subtle differences in texture.

noasobi | Attaching Tensan Eggs
A small seasonal gathering at the beginning of the tensan season.
It will be a quieter, more nature-led time, a little different from our regular workshops.

From Cocoon to Cloth | A Quiet Day at the Yamanashi Studio
A small-group gathering that follows the path from cocoon to mawata, thread, dyeing, and weaving.

Details will be shared soon.
About These Gatherings
yamamayu’s workshops are not so much classes for learning technique
as small gatherings for spending unhurried time through dyeing and weaving.
While touching materials, looking closely at color, and moving your hands slowly,
we hope you can spend a gentle stretch of time with cloth and thread.
The materials and atmosphere shift gently with each season.
We hope you can enjoy a quiet time that belongs only to that moment of the year.
